Merciless Death - Evil in the Night Review
by By Billy D. Gamble
.
From Canyon Country, California, Merciless Death comes with 100 percent thrash. The band sounds like old school thrash from the 1980s and obviously influenced by such bands as Death Angel, Vio-Lence, and Exodus. The new album, Evil in the Night, has no room for pauses or breaks. It includes face-melting wah-wah Slayer sounding-solos and a vicious fast paced old school thrash speed. The thrash and its inherent power chords are so fast this almost recalls the glory days of oldschool crossover. The album is pretty basic but all around brutal with songs about death, violence, and Satan. The album's flaw is that it's 8 songs in under a half an hour. The album also includes a Edward Repka album cover. Repka is known for doing such album covers as Death's Leprosy, Vio-Lence's Eternal Nightmare, and of course Megadeth's Peace Sells
But Who's Buying? and Rust in Peace. All-in-all, this is a worthy addition to any thrash fanatic's record collection. Merciless Death's Evil in the Night 1. Slaughter Lord 2. Deadly Assault 3. Command Death 4. Burn in Hell 5. Exumer 6. Act of Violence 7. The Final Slaughter 8. Ready to Kill
