Like many of the new wave of "spazzcore" bands (such as the Dillenger Escape Plan, The Daughters, Psyopus, etc….) The_Network manages to be just more noise, all filler, and no true substance to any of their supposed "art".Though seemingly a very political band (from the press release Metal Blade sent with the CD), I would not really be able to tell considering the lyrics tend to come from the metalcore textbook anyways (you know---mixing love, revolution, anger, passion, and more references to "love conquering all").
There is nothing of any musical substance whatsoever with this band. Blastbeats, random idiotic screaming, occasional breakdowns, more pointless "wanky" lead breaks. It is all a jumbled mess.
In closing, The_Network seems to want to make a difference with their music; the most they have ever made me want to do is melt the CD with a blowtorch and listen to more superior Metal Blade releases like Goatwhore some more.
Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU LIKE METAL.
