Four Letter Lie - Let Your Body Take Over Review

by Mike Rapin

.
Oh no. No. Maybe? No! Underoath is back! But wait they're not! It's Four Letter Lie and their album Let Your Body Take Over made me think of one word: ripoff. Seriously, every song sounds the same and sounds like something Underoath threw away.

But I don't want to give away the ending... oh wait I did. Outside of the pretty sweet scream of vocalist things kind of stink to high heaven of pop-emo-core and very weak screamo. I mean, come on people, how hard is it to make your band not seem so girl-orientated? Honestly, this is worse than bands like Chiodos and Dashboard Confessional. This band sounds like they stripped the screams from some really good metalcore band and added music/singing to get the girls to come out to the shows for a good f**k.

I mean, not even the "heavy-ish" choruses are that heavy (half-minus: "Cowboys and Indians"). It's like the guitarist isn't even trying to be heavy. Alongside of that, everything just sounds weak. I don't even want to keep ragging on this I am so pissed...

End: Four Letter Lie is lame. Sorry guys, but what the hell? Keep the screams up and maybe you'll go somewhere... that is if the screams make you evolve into something heavier and better sounding with the vocals.

PS. "Rocky Loves Emily" is a total f**king ripoff of Taking Back Sunday's "Bonus Mosh, Pt. 2." Intentional? No f**king clue.
