I want to make the effort here to say that I had higher hopes for this album; I really did. I remember grabbing this CD on a whim thinking, "yeah, it could be pretty good", but I was surprised at how unoriginal and bad sounding this band was. Chasing Victory has done a good job at spitting out some by-the-numbers tunes ready-made to please the mallcore whores on their album Fiends. Sure, at first I thought, "This isn't so bad," but then I started to catch on to the lyrics. Dear sweet Jeebus. Honestly... it's like a s***-fest. Then I started to catch on to how there was no musical talent whatsoever. Every song sounds like it was stolen and reworked to sound a tad bit different from some other, more recognizable band. I've heard stolen riffs and lyrics from Finch, Every Time I Die, Panic! At The Disco, Underoath, and N*Sync. Now what the hell is that?
Really, I don't know how bands like this can get signed, but then again, I forget that kids will listen to anything that is catchy... hell, even I do it. But I just want everyone to know that if you pick up this CD, expect nothing short of already heard riffs and clips of stolen lyrics.
