Disillusion - Gloria Review

Every now and then, there comes an album so bad, it makes Odin shake his head, the undead shiver, and even makes Satan blush. My friends, I regret to inform you another one of these s***storms has been forged. From what I've heard, Disillusion had a decent death metal debut that gave the band a good sized fanbase and some success. The year is 2006 and Disillusion is back! Unfortunately for the listeners, it totally sucks. Disillusion's sophomore album, "Gloria," is an awful record that completely blows in every way. "Gloria" sounds like a poor Rush clone mixed with some 80's pop. Every song has these progressive riffs that totally stink in every way. I have no problem with prog rock or metal, but these riffs just make me want to vomit. "Avalanche" starts out with a decent melodic riff, but it soon changes into a boring progressive riff. The vocal patterns sound like they were randomly thrown in. Disillusion get a big fat 0 in the musical category. Out of all the terrible singers I've heard in my life, Vurtox is honestly the worst. Vurtox sounds like a kinky pop star trying to seduce a women he met at a club, and I'm not joking. Vurtox's "Hey Baby" tone almost drove me to insanity because it sucked so much. Vurtox also plagues this album with his horrid narrative vocals. His vocals are boring and uninteresting, and they literally drain the life out of this album. I have never heard anything so s***ty in my life like "Gloria." This album is complete abomination and is a total disgrace to metal. AVOID!
