According to my editor, our publisher has labeled me as the "hardcore*" kid. I can see why; in this world of metalcore over-abundance, Beneath The Shadows is severely good.Combining a mix of light screams with very well put together balanced harmonious tones; Autumn Black reminds me what good metalcore should be.
And although the screams are light, the vocals are far from bad. The over-abundance of palm-muting with a lead over top never, and I mean never, gets old throughout this CD.
Then, of course, the breakdowns. Two words: Hell yes. This album is full of mindless breakdowns and wholesome leads that make my thoughts hardcore dance. If I had telepathy, my thoughts would cause entire stadiums of people to hardcore dance. It's that powerful.
This entire album makes me love what I do simply because good music in such a popular genre of music come few and far between, and I will say that Autumn Black's Beneath The Shadows has impressed me enough to say "wow."
