Confusion. Straight confusion. 2 Cents' Lost at Sea has me in a state of confusion. That's all that can be said. Somehow, which is completely incomprehensible by yours truly, 2 Cents manages to mix what I call "rockabilly" metal with something along the lines of "hip-hopish" but still are able to slam a puck of sweet, sweet metal into your forehead like an insane hockey player. Did forget to mention a slight 80s punk/thrash/hardcore feel?
Mind you, lyrically, this band reminds me of a rebellious punk band. (See also: every song on the album). The majority of songs are filled with the anger of a vast majority of people at metal/punk shows. Hearing the lyrics screamed/sung only makes someone like me feel great.
The musical talent on this CD isn't a cut above the rest, but still head-bangable and definitely something to kick someone's ass to. Many of the songs are filled with some great lead guitar parts and the occasional impressive solo, but overall not much to be awestruck by.
The sum up here is simply this: if you need something to listen to when you're pissed or just plain murderous grab this CD; the entire feel of the album is angry and fed up, which almost reminds me of Rage Against the Machine with a less political hit and instead a socially angry hit with the lyrics.
