Supernovice
at Public Storage, Anaheim Ca. Friday May

For those who have
heard of Orange County in reference to Music, the names to recall are The
Offspring, and No Doubt. However the band Supernovice has been a mainstay
of the Orange County Punk scene since their inception in 1992. Receiving
critical acclaim for their unique blend of punk, pop, ska, and folk.
We are talking about a Garage band here, Their music is crisp, clear, and
unique. Supernovice has toured extensively, and have amassed a following
of fans, not to mention releasing three albums on the ONSET label.
For Friday nights
show Supernovice took the first slot in a three band line up. The opening
song Liverwurst a tongue n' cheek song off of their latest release "Timely".
Lead vocalist/guitarist David Turbow lead the band through a powerful 30
minute set, including Supernovice standards "Saving face" and the "The
Depths". While, drummer Joel McDaniel delivered a healthy dose of tasty
beats that kept the dance floor moving, and the crowd groovin.
The only set back
to the show would be the poor P.A. system of Public Storage, which muffled
Turbows usually crisp voice. Besides that Supernovice lived up to their
reputation as one of the top Punk bands on the Southern California Scene.
Look for a profile
of the band with real audio to come to the band section of Rock n' world
soon.

Fan Comment:
"This would be such a cool band if they dumped that fat chick. All she
does is sing over the lead singer, and it ruins the music." JM 4-99
