The
Cave-Cam gains International attention.
Orange
County punk/pop group Weedpuller is no stranger to the web, they were one
of the first bands to make a presence on the internet. Drummer Rob Swindell
is an avid computer enthusiast and ran a successful BBS software company
for several years, so when the web jumped into prominence a few years ago
he quickly setup a home for his band on the net.
Following
in that tradition Weedpuller landed upon the web cam craze and began the
"Cave Cam" last year. Visitors to the Weedpuller site get to take a look
into the Rat Cave, Weedpuller's rehearsal studio. What really makes the
Cave Cam truly innovative is the the fact that on most Tuesday nights fans
can tune into the bands rehearsals via real audio and watch via the cave
cam.
The
Cave Cam has gained quite a following, and as a result caught the attention
of a producer for Internet Tonight ,a nightly program on the computer cable
network ZDTV, that discusses news, and the latest technology on the web.
The Internet Tonight story on Weedpuller and the Cave Cam ran in
mid March, and showcased Weedpuller's innovative use of web cam technology.
The band plans to offer real video of the ZDTV profile on it's web site
soon.
In
related news, Weedpuller has also recently offered their fans a special
collectors prerelease edition of their latest album, Girth. For $10 bucks
fans can get the cd which includes 18 songs. The band is in
the process of shopping Girth with several labels who have taken an interest
in the bands Polished punk-pop sound.
What
ever happens you can be sure Weedpuller will remain a step ahead of other
bands with their web site, incorporating the hottest new technologies to
entertain their fans.
