The Offspring go Hollywood!
Orange County punk superstars
the Offspring are riding high on the success of their latest single "pretty
fly" and latest album America ( which is great by the way).
Movie goers this weekend
got the first taste of the Offspring on the big screen with a trailer for
the movie Idle Hands which aired during the previews of Cruel Intentions.
The band spent three days
last June shooting scenes for the movie, they appear as themselves of course
performing "Pretty Fly". The band also re-recorded Beheaded and recorded
a cover of the Ramones favorite, I Wanna Be Sedated for the film.
There are no formal plans
to release these tracks as of yet, so better get the 8 bucks for a movie
ticket if you wanna hear em.
The theatrical trailer also
includes live clips of the band, as well as Pretty fly as the background
music.
The horror/comedy film is
directed by Rodman Flender (Party of Five, The Unborn) stars Devon Sawa,
Seth Green (Buffy the Vampire slayer, Can't hardy wait) and Vivica Fox.
The premise is Sawa looses
control of his hand, which goes on a killing spree, after killing his best
friends they refuse to take the long walk to the pearly gates and stick
around as the undead to see what develops.
The film hit theaters this
spring.
