KISS
opts out of Russian Tour
KISS has
decided to pull the plug on their planed tour of Russian due to the current
conflict in Kosovo.
The
band canceled the tour due to the recent anti-American sentiment in the
region that has resulted from the US bombing in the former Soviet Satellite
nation of Kosovo. With the American embassy literally coming under fire
and besieged with protesters, KISS decided that it might be best to by-pass
the region all together.
The
tour would have been KISS first assault into Russia with concerts in Moscow
and St. Petersburg. Due to the resentment of many Russian citizens, rock
fans in the former Soviet Union will have to wait to get their first taste
of KISS live.
The
tour is not expected to be rescheduled any time in the near future due
to the continued crisis in Kosovo.
KISS
will return to the road in August, after Paul Stanley completes playing
the title character in Phantom of the Opera in Canada. (
