News: Limp Bizkit #1, Fred the V.P.
Limp Bizkit's second major label album Significant
Other bumped the bubble gum kings the Backstreet Boys from the number one
spot on the Billboard Hot 200.
The Backstreet Boys had held on to the
number 1 position for the past five weeks, and not even the mega hyped
Ricky Martin could topple them, So they called in the big guns and Limp
Bizkit got the job done!
Significant Other sold 634,874 copies
in it's first week, and will be number one when Billboard published the
Hot 200 chart next week.
This appears to be Limp Bizkit's week,
the bands front man Fred Durst was named Senior V.P. of Interscope Records
this week. He will also be given his own division to run as he sees fit.
Fred will be called upon to use his vast
talents in video and record production as well as perform other A&R
related duties. Rumor has it that he was approached to utilize his
skills for other labels, but decided to accept the V.P. position with Interscope
because that is the label his band is signed to.
Way to go Fred and the rest of band, you
have made us very proud here at Rock n World by proving that rock is still
king and no amount of prepubescent girls scurrying to the record stores
to buy the mindless dribble from the latest incarnation of the New
Kids on the Block could stop real rock from triumphing!
