Enuff
Z'nuff gaining new momentum prior to release of 9th album.
Chicago's
Enuff Z'nuff are getting a lot of attention lately. First fellow Chicago
legends Billy Corgan, James Young, and Rick Neison laid down tracks on
Enuff Z'nuffs latest album Paraphernalia. Now the band is in overdrive
readying that albums US release. The band spent the past couple of
weeks with a film crew shooting footage for an upcoming VH1 Where are they
now program. Fans on AOL will be able to chat with Donnie Vie and Chip
Z'nuff on April 30 at 9 pm EST.
The
band is excited about the prospects for Paraphernalia, the Japanese release
from last year has turned a lot of heads, the album broke into the Japanese
top 20 and landed our nod for the 1998 album of the year. Us fans who purchased
the import version of Paraphernalia have 3 reasons to pick up the US release
on May 4th. Two brand new songs have been added, and the cover of the Cheap
Trick classic Everything Works has been re-recorded with Smashing Pumpkins
Billy Corgan playing guitar on the track.
The
US release was delayed when the band decided to leave their former label
Mayhem and signed up with newly formed Spitfire Records. Spitfire has already
lined up a extensive distribution deal with ADA so CD's by their artist
will be easy to find. Union also left Mayhem for Spitfire and the record
company is primed to fill the record stores with top notch hard rock and
heavy metal albums.
While
band cofounder Chip Z'nuff has been working the business side of Enuff
Z'nuff from his offices at Stony Records, Enuff Z'nuff front man Donnie
Vie has been in Los Angeles working on film projects.
A release
party for Paraphernalia will be held on May 1st at the Double Door in Chicago
and will be broadcast live on the web via JamTV
and the Rollingstone Network
Enuff
Z'nuff has been hailed by critics as one of the most under rated bands
of this generation. However with radio shying away from the band and Mayhems
lukewarm promotion their past few albums didn't become the mega-sellers
they had the potential to be. Now with the rise of metal and hard rocks
popularity and the strength of the music of Paraphernalia, it appears that
Enuff Z'nuff may finally get their due. So look for them on VH1, listen
for them on radio, keep an eye out for our Special on the band in May and
last but not least get a copy of Paraphernalia and discover why We think
it one of the best albums of the 90's.
Paraphernalia
will be available for the first time in the US on May 4th. The band expects
to tour in support of the album this summer.
