Tommy
Lee Quits Motley Crue
"I wish all the guys the best of luck
this summer. I will miss them and the fans, but it's time for me to totally
embrace my family and my new projects." These were Tommy Lee's parting
words.
Lee's wife Pamela Anderson Lee announced
on Los Angeles alternative rock station KROQ that Tommy had decided to
leave the Crue.
Tommy has reconciled with Pamela, and has
been working on a solo project called Methods of Mayhem. Motley Crue issued
a statement and confirmed that Lee was departing the band, and also wished
him well in his new endeavors. Nikki Sixx, bassist for Motley Crue, says
"We support Tommy in his decision to take some time off from touring and
trust he will enjoy success in whatever he sets out to accomplish. " Former
Guns n Roses drummer Matt Sorum is reported to be filling in on drums for
the Crue's summers tour with the Scorpions.
