Lilith
Fair '99!
The highly
successful music festival started by Sarah McLachlan to focus women in
music and womens issues will return in the summer of 1999. This is the
third outing for the tour which has made a name for itself by providing
diverse musical groups as well as giving charities a venue to reach out
to music fans. Organizers have announced that just like last year $1 from
all ticket sales will be given to local non-profit organizations.
This
years artist line up is the most diverse yet, featuring rock, alternative,
punk, hip hop, country, pop and R&B performers. Concert goers we be
able to see Sarah McLachlan, Shawn Colvin, Me'Shell Ndegocello, the
Pretenders, the Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow,Bif Naked, Mya, Marina McBride,
Deborah Cox, Monica, Kelly Willis, Beth Orton, Indigo Girls, Queen
Latifah, Luscious Jackson, Cibo Matto, Aimee Mann, Bijou Phillips and other
as yet un named performers. The tour kicks off in Vancouver on July
8th and will conclude on August 31st in Edmonton.
This
is supposed to be the final outing for this tour, so if you missed it the
past you will surely want to go this summer. With that in mind here are
