The Alice Rose - Photographic Memory Review
by Sherrill Fulghum
.
This pop rock band from Austin, Texas overall sound resembles fellow southerners 3 Door Down but members of the band The Alice Rose compare themselves more toward rock legends The Beatles. Indeed musically the band is Beatle-esque in their music and could probably be very similar to what The Beatles would sound like if they were together and playing today. But lyrically the band says they follow in the footsteps of Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett.Photographic Memory> is the Austin five piece band's debut album contains 10 original songs with well crafted music. The drummer keeps the musical beat but it is the guitars who drive the music while the song flows smoothly along. The songs are well rounded in that the various instruments are not in competition with each other and trying to see who can out play who. And just to show that the band is not one dimensional with a limited audience, among the friends listed on the band's My Space page are Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, and Antonin Dvorak.
