Rain - Dream Review

.
If one thing is certain, it is that Rain is certainly not on the cusp of superstardom. The tracks that make up "Dream" fall well short of the lofty goal set by the title. And by well short, I mean like bottom of a ravine. The formulaic components included in every single solitary track are neither interesting or daring. They reek of boredom and leave the listener dying for something different to break the monotony of a four walled world. The awkward crooning of poorly double tracked vocals recorded by the worst American Idol reject careen with the crisp repetition of the same four chords over and over again to leave the listener feeling like in extra in Bill Murray's Groundhog Day. The one sweet spot coming from the power button on my stereo. Rain has potential. If they stop playing, join different bands and are willing to forfeit the haggard vocal wailings and pseudo-metaphorical lyrics of their current musical project perhaps they will be forced to break away from their comfort zone. Maybe than my ears will stop oozing from the pain of Rain. Put this one right next to your favorite Clay Aiken CD.
