The Black Keys – Magic Potion Review

by Eric Bodrero

.
If you like bluesy beats and coarse, gritty vocals, then the Black Keys are for you. They keep their obvious roots of blues rock alive with Magic Potion, a collection of songs which remind one of being in a darkened, smoky blues hall listening to Ray Charles or any number of Blues kings at their peak. The Black Keys certainly know their way around this type of music, but it deviates not from their formula, which is good for fans I suppose. Lots of guitar riffs and long, sustained blues-jams fill this record to the brim. Not for fans of lighter, happier music!
