We Are The Fury - Infinite Jest Review

Remember Spacehog? They had that one song that was on the radio. It was all spacey and trippy rock and roll. Really catchy. My roommate at the time bought the album and played it for like a month straight. It was alright. Their strength really lay in that single though. There was nothing like it. It made you happy to hear it. It didn't matter how many times your roommate threw it on late at night. You were game for it. I kind of have the same attitude for We Are The Fury. They have a similar sound to Spacehog and a similar forgettable quality. They are catchy enough but I'm not sure that there is enough there to really distinguish themselves out of the pack of talent. They are good enough to make an enjoyable album but not good enough to be memorable. This is particularly intriguing for a band that calls itself We Are The Fury. Where is it? I want to hear it. I want to believe it. I caught a glimpse on this five song CD, Infinite Jest, but it just isn't overall that convincing. I mean if you got to explain it…. I don't think anyone would be angry about having this CD in their collection though. I would just suggest that you make yourself very busy for the last half of it.
