Lansing-Dreiden - The Dividing Island Review
by Sherrill Fulghum
.
Lansing-Dreiden is not a band in the normal sense of the word. Lansing-Dreiden is a multi media company based in New York that specializes in artwork in its many forms including musical recordings. The album has no names of band members or musicians on it; it is simply a white cover listing the name and title on front and the songs on the back and no liner notes.Try to imagine Depeche Mode meets "Days of Future Passed" by The Moody Blues or perhaps an English Version of Sigur Ros and that would give you an idea of what The Dividing Island by Lansing-Dreiden sounds like. The Dividing Island is a pleasant mix of vocals and instruments that provides for a wonderful CD for working or relaxing. The singer even sounds a little like Moody Blues lead singer Justin Hayward. The voices blend nicely with the numerous instruments used almost to the point of becoming instruments themselves. The Dividing Island by Lansing-Dreiden is an album well worth adding to any CD collection. The more you listen, the better it gets.
