Live at the Brixton Academy London - You Fat B**tards/Who Cares A Lot: The Greatest VideosFor some reason, almost 10 years after Faith No More disintegrated due to infighting over the musical direction of the band, they have decided to release a 2 disc DVD, featuring an hour long concert, filmed in London at the height of their popularity, and a two hour long disc of all their videos. This was a nice treat; Christmas came early to the Foney house.
It's quite a history lesson crammed into three hours, following the band from their shaky start in the days when the label 'alternative' wasn't a euphemism for 'crap', to their triumphant peak & MTV domination, to their sad & weird descent into Michael Bolton- quality ballads for weepy, overweight housewives & Lionel Ritchie cover songs (Son #1: "Hey! I heard that song on a commercial before! Is this a video or an infomercial?" Ah, youth.)
Other than unashamedly sticking on here the videos featuring the music that alienated their guitarist & much of their fan base, it is a great DVD. The concert is excellent, the best part of these 2 discs. The videos were a fun stroll down memory lane, though I'd never seen them before without the aid of illegal substances, which was a novel experience. Maybe you'll find this as well, buy the set & see. It'll be worth it for the good stuff on here.
