Eurythmics - Ultimate Collection Review

.
What can you say about Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart that hasn't already been said? They were one of the most prolific and adventurous duos of the '80s and '90s. The duo wrote terrific songs that were always jumping ahead of the rest of their catalogue. Coupled with their obvious sense of presentation and dynamic live shows, they have a body of work that is truly impressive. And we're privy to that body of work now with the newly-released hits package, Ultimate Collection. There are 19 songs here, 17 bonafide hits, all of which should be instantly recognizable to you, and two new cuts. The first new cut "I've Got a Life" kicks off the record and it's like the band never left. Annie sounds excellent as always and the song just builds and builds. It's currently holding court at the top of the Billboard charts, and with good reason. "Was It Just Another Love Affair?" is the other new one and it's in the same vein --- excellent. Apparently, these two songs were blasted out after Annie visited Dave and he showed her his new studio. The creative juices got flowing and these two songs are the result. Let's hope it continues cuz these guys still have it.
