Bowling for
Soup Interview
.
For this week's 2&2 we speak with
Jaret from Bowling for Soup about the band's brand new CD The Great
Burrito Extortion Case
2&2: You've probably been asked
this a million times but for those that don't know, where did your name
come from?
Jaret: We got it off a Steve Martin
comedy album from 1978….It was supposed to be temporary, but we never got
around to changing it…
2&2: Aside from being the name of
our album, what is "The Great Burrito Extortion Case"?
Jaret: It is an actual case where
someone tried to claim a mouse was in their burrito at a Mexican fast food
place
2&2: Favorite tracks from the CD?
Jaret: Epiphany, I'm Gay, when we
Die
2&2: Your 1st single "High School
Never Ends" is great indictment of the superficial popular culture. What
inspired that song?
Jaret: It just says it like it is…Social
politics never really evolve after high school and then we live vicariously
through the tabloids…It's really kinda depressing actually…
2&2: You guys are known not only
for your sense of humor but for your live shows, have you nailed down any
tour plans behind the new album? Or is it too soon to let the cat outta
the bag?
Jaret: We will be on the road for
the next 18 months on and off….We really never stop!!
2&2: Final Question. This may seem
a bit out of left field, but can you confirm this story from the wikipedia
on your band? "When the band's manager discovered "Girl All The Bad Guys
Want" was nominated for a Grammy Award he then called Jaret who was waiting
in the delivery room with his wife awaiting the birth of his daughter"?
Jaret: That is actually a true story…It
was an amazing day!!!
