Well let's just say they aren't going to be the next big thing. I am a big fan of the albums that Thorp records have put out lately, but Pride Kills is a bit of a disappointment. They have a very hard sound but it doesn't seem to evolve throughout the album. Vocally it is also a big disappointment. When you put the album on you get what you expect a hard edged, brawling, feel no pain, and hate everyone sound. Sure it's not bad at first, but then you realize that the singer has a terrible voice, the instrumentals don't seem to play anything different, and it's just not that good. The sound is very dry and boring. There really is nothing original or different about this band.
I am not going to tell you to go out and buy this album. Thorp Records is a great label which has produced some great bands and albums lately. Unfortunately they can't all be good. If you're an angry person who loves angry music than give Pride Kills a listen. You never know you just may think differently than I do.
